The Famous Walk across Morecambe Bay
You must be accompanied by a guide for your own safety.
The famous walk currently starts from Arnside and ends on Kents Bank. In previous years it has started at Hesk Bank to Kents Bank. The reason for the change is quite simple, peoples safety.
As you know the tide at Morecambe Bay is incredibly dangerous. The way the sea twists and turns in to the Bay changes each year and so do the dangers. Not only could you find yourself in deep water but there is Quick Sand to sink and disappear under... be careful! The walk itself covers about eight or nine miles, so 'Put on your walking shoes' (Thanks Cliffe! or should that be dancing shoes?).
The 'Queens Guide' for walks across Morecambe Bay is a gentleman called: Cedric Robinson, he and his wife Mrs Robinson can be contacted on 01539 532 165.
The guided walks take place between May and September each year and the times vary depending on the tides.
HURRY... This years guided tours will be booked up very quickly so put on your boots and pick up the phone!
I would not recommend you try the walk without Cedric as you WILL be placing you life at risk.
Should you book your guided walk with Cedric, you are sure to have an amazing experience.
