Morecambe promenade development - Act Now!

Urban Splash have submitted plans to Lancaster City Council for the development of land adjacent to the Midland Hotel. They want to build high rise apartments on the seaward side of the promenade.
Such a development would destroy the beautiful views out across the bay and the peace and quiet of the prom would also be destroyed for many months, if not years, whilst work goes on, as this is a major construction project.
Morecambe's promenade offers a lovely, relaxing stroll with a wonderful view but this amenity is going to be spoilt forever if this development is allowed to go ahead.
If anyone who lives in Morecambe or visits Morecambe cares about the future of the town, please, please object to the development by going onto Lancaster City Council's website, go to Planning and register your objection under ref. no. 07/01810/OUT OR 07/01811/FUL.
If this development is allowed to go ahead, it will be the thin end of the wedge. There will be more to follow, and the prom as we know it will be destroyed forever. There is a far better site for this kind of development on the site of the old Frontierland, which is crying out for development.
Please make your protest soon, before it's a done deal.
