I know- probably the oddest thing posted here in a while, but I pride myself on that, so there you go. Tongue
Basically I've just moved to the local area (near side of Lancaster) and I'm starting a cell of a 12th century reenactment group. It's combat and craft and so forth, and we do such charitable works as performing at town events, castles, and going into schools to help do hands-on history with kids. I swear it's not as geeky as stereotypes would have you believe (some of us even have partners! -gasp-) and believe it or not, a bit of competitive (AND SAFE!) combat is quite fun.
Well, anyone who is interested can find us on Facebook (search: Normannis Lancaster), e-mail or message me here, or just look at our website for further info:

Thanks for reading!

Hey Dan

Great first post. Really interesting.

I was thinking maybe you could write an article (with a few images) and we can use it for an article on the front page of the Morecambe website.

You can email me at
matt@ [thiswebsitename]

It's great that some of your work is for charity. I'll join your facebook group.
