I was chatting in the office ( down south) when I mentioned a nursery rhyme my mother used to say to me and which I then said to my children. It went...

Here sits the Lord Mayor
Here are his two men
This is his cheek
this is his hen pen
Lift up the Sneck
Walk in
and chin wagga chin wagga chin

everyone looked at me blankly and said they had never heard of it .

On the net I found the following......

Here sits the Lord Mayor, (point to forehead)
here sits two men, (eyes)

Here sits the cock, here sits the hen, (cheeks)
Here sit the little chickens, (tip of nose) here
they run in, (mouth)
Chin-chopper, chin-chopper, chin-chopper, chin!
(chuck the chin)

Does anyone remember my version ?, is it a lancashire version? or was it perculiar to my mother
