Hello to all my lovely friends, old and new. Bet you thought I had gone for good, but sorry to disapoint anyone! Many weeks of pain etc, and weeks in various hospitals, infection of the heart, and now I have a pacemaker installed, so I am now bionic! I would love to hear from anyone else who has one of these amazing inventions in their body. So now I am back to keep you all in order once more. To all my friends whom I keep in contact via email - I am still very weak, just out of hospital a couple of hours ago, and walking with a zimmer frame!!! I will get around to emailing you in time, please bear with me for a few days. Lots of love to you all, Elaine. Posts: 57 | From: Ballachulish, Scotland. | Registered: May 2001  |  IP: Logged

I've seen the new ad on the telly, those Durecell batteries keep you going much further, so I've worked it out if you buy 6 boxes of twelve, it will keep you going for at least another 40 years. Gives you plenty of time for postings.

Also Steve Cram and Subastian Coe had a Pacemaker and they always overtook them on the final lap!

There was Nelson Mandela, he had one, no,no,no, sorry, he was a PeaceMaker!

Then there's Pentium and Compaq, oops I'm getting mixed up now, they're PC Makers!

Anyway Elaine, my main point is, you're an amazing woman with the strength and determination to out live us all. You may be bionic but you have a heart of solid gold. It's great to have you back xxx

Peter and Keith, you are both too dreadful for words! How I miss the Lancastrian humour, living here amongst the Highlanders, who take everything you say SO seriously. How refreshing to get some light-hearted funny banter. I am constantly in stitches (ouch, that's too real just now) reading your comments.
I read that someone was checking the Bulletin Board for holes, well, mustn't disapoint, so here's a few to be going on with. O O O O O
O O O O
O O O

Best wishes, Elaine. Posts: 57 | From: Ballachulish, Scotland. | Registered: May 2001  |  IP: Logged

Welcome back Elaine. I did not realize just how ill you had been. Sounds like you had a very close call but.... it also sounds like everything is on the mend and that modern technology has dragged you back from the brink. NOW! watch you diet, exercise, don't bend the elbow too much (use a straw!) AND do as the doctors tell you. Someone has to keep Peter and the rest of those young upstarts in line and it appears that you are emminently qualified to do the job. Take care. TTFN.

Thanks Dave (Scouter) for those kind thoughts. It seemed that everyone but myself knew just how ill I was. Thank goodness for oblivion during the worst of it. I had to get better though, I couldn't miss the last week of Wimbledon (I can hear you all going yawn, yawn!) not to mention Big Brother (even more yawns). That's the best thing about being not quite as young as I was - I can admit to liking everything that others like, but daren't admit to it for fear of losing street cred. Elaine.
