Can anyone remember Josh on Yorkshire Street? The shop was packed with second hand goods of which I am sure he never ever sold anything. For as long as I remember he had snow shoes in the front window halfway down the compacted rubbish. When you went passed the door he would be sitting amongst the smelling squaller. I won't say what the shop became but ugh!!!! Speak to all soon. Posts: 29 | From: Chester | Registered: May 2001  |  IP: Logged

Oh yes they did , if it's the shop I am thinking of , I bought my first pair of football boots there . They had hard toes with a strap across the front.

I also sold him some records to pay for me to go and see Burnley against Spurs at Turf Moor . We won 3-1 !! I was about 12 years old at the time

I also remember Josh and his second-hand shop on Yorkshire street. He wore a grubby old gaberdine mac and had a push bike. That's all he did with it - push it! I don't remember him actually riding the bike but he used it to carry 'goods' to and from the shop. I think eventually the shop was taken over by a fishmonger. While we are talking about eccentric shopkeepers ................................ does anyone remember mr cubby ?
He had a discount supermarket (sorry shop) and advertised regularly.
When OMO had a series of ads saying OMO washed better than Brand X............. Mr Cubby started stocking Brand X !
