I am pulling out all my hair with this problem. Whenever I use my mouse to either "click on" something, or to correct my many typing errors, the cussed curser seems to have a mind of it's own. The curser seems to either stick on something that I don't want, or it's getting increasingly difficult to align the curser in between letters, for example. What is wrong, and how do I fix it? Please help me, before I find myself taking to the hills and screaming at the full moon (if I can see it through the rain clouds!) Many thanks, Elaine.

hello again

i have had this problem.
it is easy to fix.

the ball rotates 2 wheels inside the mouse. the wheels get a build up of dust and grease.

turn the mouse upside down
turn the ring around the ball to the left
release the ball
clean the plastic wheels with tissue and meths

reassemble..............

voila as we say here

good luck

peter

Hello Peter, I took my mouse apart, removed the dust etc, no meths, someone must have drunk it all, put it back together, but if anything, it's now worse! Do I have to buy a new mouse? Elaine.

Hello again Peter (mpprh)
Success! I have just cleaned the mouse with medi-wipes, don't ask me where I got them from, and I'm now cooking with gas. Merci beaucoup, and au revour! Elaine.

Elaine. Here is a remedy that I tried once.
Go to the basement(cellar). Find an 8-lb
mace(sledge hammer). Return to computer
desk. Place errant mouse on floor. Align
head of mace with top of mouse. Raise mace
about 18 inches above mouse. Allow mace to
drop. Clean up the mess. Go for cold pint.
I guarantee that the mouse will not give
you any more problems. Good Luck!

Hello Scouter,
That's excellent advice! What a shame I don't have a cellar! Maybe it's just as well, as I couldn't believe that such a small, apparently insignificant thing such as a mouse could bring me to the point of a nervous breakdown. I was gnashing my teeth, pulling out my hair, ready to through the entire PC out of the window, just because of a little thing called a curser not going where I wanted it to. Now, who was the enlightened person who came up the name "curser". I have probably spelt it wrong, but to me, that's the most apt spelling! Wouldn't mind the pint though, I have to be teetotal just now, being on long-term antibiotics. Maybe that's why my brain cannot stand such trivial annoyances! Elaine.
