It was a bit of a shocker - so many people still spell Morecambe incorrectly!
]]>Thanks.
]]>If you are any indication of the inhabitants of Morecambe though, perhaps it’s best that people do stay away.
This is clearly intended as a town website and not a personal one - the use of the town’s name, local news, local events and activities and local photographs all serve as reliable indicators.
If you were to ask any of the town councillors or anyone involved with tourism in the Morecambe area for their opinion on such negativity on a website that is supposedly there for promotion, I don’t think they’d have a favourable opinion to be honest. This is probably why every other town, local or national website that I’ve ever seen keeps things impartial and keeps the personal opinions for the comments.
Never mind, I’m sure you know what you’re doing so I’ll leave you to it.
]]>Who do you think you are to tell other people what to put on their website. If you don’t like it, do one…
“I’m not sure you should have such an opinionated piece on a website that seems to be geared towards Morecambe town”
–WTF, Heaven forbid someone has an opinion
“Personal opinions are fine for personal websites,”
–Maybe this is a personal website
“With all the time and effort you go to to promote Morecambe,”
–It’s dangerous to make assumptions because your end up making an ASS out of U and ME. What on earth gave you the idea that a lot of effort is going into promoting Morecambe?
“My advice:…”
– No one gives a crap about your advice you hypocritical schmuck. Take your own advice and go and rant somewhere else maybe gareth.co.uk
“…Being impartial and factual will make you more credible as a source of local news, if that’s what you want”
– Yawn. This site is not trying to be a credible news source. Why on Earth would you think that. Go away.
]]>I’m sure your readers would be able to decide for themselves what they’d like to happen to the people who did this and don’t need you to spell it out for them in a personal rant.
Being impartial and factual will make you more credible as a source of local news, if that’s what you want.
]]>Personal opinions are fine for personal websites, but people who come across morecambe.co.uk are likely to be looking for information on the town and local area - and not for information like this.
With all the time and effort you go to to promote Morecambe, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to undo any of that work by putting people off with so much negativity.
My advice: keep this site for promoting Morecambe (or sell the domain to the town council so that they can do that) and register another domain (like matt.co.uk or whatever) for your personal rants.
