Pain in my vagina!

Dear Caroline,

I am sixteen and just started having sex. I am doing it in a loving relationship and we do use protection but after the last time, I have had a pain in my vagina that really hurts when i am sitting down and lying down relaxed. Can you tell what it is and if there is anything seriously wrong and what should I do if it persists please?

I can only presume that everyone has a different time span of feeling at ease with any sexual nature when its for the first time, it can take some time to relax and get around it .

I would suggest that you call om your local GP and get some advice its private and confidential so there you can feel comfortable about talking about it with them, if you feel that you have a close relationship with your mum then you must ask her if you feel that you can, Im very sure shell say the same as me! go easy and get some proper medical advice it may be just an infection but get it seen.
